The Green Business League obtained the federal trademark for "GBL Certified Green Consultant'" whereas other programs have not.  Offering a fifteen module course that could be taken online or in live classes, many aspiring environmentally-concerned people took the Green consultant training in expectation of working within their community to make serious improvements.

Actually, community colleges like Cape Fear Community College offered training for Green officers using the GBL material.  This was not the equivalent of a college degree, but the majority of students in this program were already LEED AP, college degreed, experienced in Green programs, and active in the industry. 

The Certified Green Consultant training is more than 15 modules and 400+ pages of quality training meant to create a knowledgeable Green consultant capable of guiding a company through the assessment program to an honest verification.
