GREEN BUSINESS LEAGUE

Green Certification: Earning a Gold level certification as a Green business is no small task.  The fact that this Green Certification was earned by a oil changing service is even more remarkable.  Some might think that a lube service is an unlikely candidate to be considered as a Green certified business; but it must be remembered that everyone must contribute to the environmental issue, and no one is exempt from the process.  Reliable Lubes of Coplay, PA is very proud to be a progressive Green business.

Consider the length this company goes in the recycling effort.  The oil is recovered and recycled into heating oil.  Organic trash is put into a composting process.  Plastic bags are recycled, and computer equipment is recycled as well.

Heating comes from a corn-fired furnace and a programmable thermostat is used.  Solar power augments the energy use for garage lights.  Energy Star appliances and windows are already in place.  Powerstrips are used to eliminate phantom load. 

The list of all the environmental improvements are more than impressive, and Reliable Lubes earned an impressive 215 points during its audit by Heather Deschenes, a Certified Green Consultant, from Green Impact Solutions.  Reliable Lubes was a Green business before Heather came along, but Heather has shown Dave Nolf, the owner, even more great ideas for Greening his company.  A Certified Green Consultant does more than audit a business for Green Practices, he or she also acts as a kind of sustainability officer or Green coach to promote the continuation of the Green process for years to come.
